Name: Sobak Ak-Hanif
Age: 27
Race: Lizardman
Physical Description: Standing about 6’, Sobak stands out in a crowd. His entire body is completely covered in deep green scales, with small spikes above his eyes. He has two rows of incredibly sharp teeth and his eyes are bright yellow with slits for pupils. Sobak sports a 3’ tail that reaches down to his feet and drags along the ground. He dresses in simple light armour of a dull brass colour and fairly unremarkable clothing. He wears an amulet made of tree sap shaped like the sun around his neck, which he believes protects him. He’s almost never seen without his favourite axes.
Personality: All outward appearances aside, Sobak is uncharacteristically friendly. He is highly optimistic and hopeful, possessing limitless ambition. He doesn’t like to talk about the past, looking only to the future and completely focused on finding the Beyond. He has given everything he has to find something, despite looking like a fool in the process. He doesn’t seem to care, however, knowing that, one day, he’ll be proven right.
Skills and Abilities: Sobak is a skilled combatant, able to effectively use his axes in battle. He can also do a tiny bit of magic, which is limited to him throwing what he calls “sun-bolts”.
History: Hatched and raised in the deepest part of an island on Tyrosi’s Chain, Sobak began life learning the fine arts of hunting and fishing with his tribe. He rarely ventured beyond the island, and was oblivious to the wider world, until a mighty wizard came to their home and asked for their aid. The wizard needed a guide into some ancient ruins and offered the tribe riches if they were willing to aid him. Sobak and a group of his fellow Lizardmen accompanied the wizard into the depths of the ruins. What the wizard found down there, he couldn’t say, but he kept talking about somewhere he called “The land beyond”. The wizard made this land sound like a utopia.
When Sobak returned with his compatriots and the wizard, he sought the blessing of the tribe’s elders to leave the island and search for the Beyond. Though some of his fellow Lizardmen called him a fool, he was granted his wish and given the sun amulet for his journey. He left the island in a small boat, vowing not to return until he had found the way to the Beyond. Only problem is he doesn’t know where to begin, so he wanders the world, hoping to find the starting point.
