Name: Artemis Avidan
Age: Appears late 20's, real age is 58
Race: Human (for the most part)
Physical Description: He presents like a typical man in the prime of his life, with jet black hair pulled back into a short ponytail and small, circular sunglasses on the tip of his nose. He wears heavy boots, pants with a lot of pockets that are always full, a large duster coat with armored shoulders that has several also constantly full pockets sewn into the inside, and a breastplate made of a leather-like but unusually strong material carved with arcane symbols. He also has tattoos in the same arcane language in full sleeves on both arms, with more tattoos on his hands, usually concealed by fingerless gloves. He keeps a pair of cestus on his belt when he needs them.
Personality: Artemis is a very inquisitive fellow, always studying the area and the world around him. He's much more intelligent than his physical appearance might suggest, but he's prone to an odd sort of clingy hoarding behavior; if he finds something that interests him, it usually becomes his, bordering on kleptomania. This is mostly due to the nature of his power.
He's generally a very laid-back individual, with a witty retort to every remark made to him and making friends very quickly. However, when either his own safety or the safety of a friend is put in jeopardy, Artemis becomes one of the most frighteningly powerful forces in the land.
Powers and Abilities: Artemis is preternaturally skilled at a very unique kind of magic; he can take an everyday object, like a hairpin or a small coin, and draw out the latent enchantment within the object to use it to his advantage. This is a bit of a gambit, since every object does something slightly different, but he's usually pretty good at turning whatever wacky effect the object produces to his advantage. Just in case, he keeps incredible amounts of objects that he knows what they do stashed in pockets around his body.
In times of great need, he can also draw out the enchantment of his armor, which grants him flight and temporary invincibility (about 4-6 posts). However, this burns out the rest of his powers, and he can't do anything magical for a while afterward. He's also a skilled boxer, thus the cestus.
History: Artemis was born in the Citadel to a entitled family, and his powers emerged quickly, prompting his parents to send him out to live with a magical tutor at a nearby university. It was there that the unique nature of his power was discovered, and he was taught in its exact use. He also studied boxing with another professor, and in general became very good friends with everyone around him. At least, until the accident.
He made an attempt to draw out the enchantment in one of his professor's books, accidentally opening a rift to a parallel realm. He was drawn in and spoke to the being contained within, who introduced itself as "Azag-Mauros". He learned a great deal from him in a short time, before being pulled back into this world by the combined effort of the professors. The experience gave him his unique arm tattoos and breastplate, and many years later, he discovered it had slowed his aging as well. He left the university soon after and took to wandering.
